Electricity is becoming one of the world’s most valuable resources. Demand is surging across the economy, driven by AI, electrification, and industrial growth. Yet the systems we rely on to manage the energy haven’t kept pace. Businesses are facing rising costs, increasing volatility, and growing complexity in how they buy, manage, and optimize power. That’s why we’ve invested in Verse.
The rapid growth of AI infrastructure, electrification, and industrial demand is putting unprecedented pressure on energy systems.
Across many regions, power grids are struggling to keep up. Generation shortages, transmission bottlenecks, and lengthy interconnection queues are delaying new capacity for years. Hundreds of data centres are currently waiting for access to power, creating a bottleneck that threatens to slow the next wave of technological progress.
At the same time, large enterprises are managing increasingly complex energy portfolios spanning grid electricity, renewable energy contracts, on-site solar generation, and battery storage. Yet these systems remain fragmented, making it difficult to make informed decisions about cost, risk, and energy use.
This results in higher costs, unnecessary waste, and slower progress towards a cleaner, more resilient energy system.
Verse is the leading energy infrastructure platform for the AI economy, building the operating system for enterprise energy. Its platform, Aria, is already used by Fortune 500 companies to manage complex energy portfolios. By centralising utility bills, contracts, power purchase agreements (PPAs), and energy assets across thousands of sites, Aria gives customers a unified view of their energy operations. The result is better forecasting, smarter procurement decisions, lower costs, and reduced risk.
Alongside this funding round, Verse is launching Dispatch Intelligence™, a new offering designed to help data-centre operators bring capacity online years faster. By intelligently orchestrating on-site energy resources alongside existing grid infrastructure, the platform enables operators to overcome power bottlenecks without compromising performance.
Seyed Madaeni, CEO and co-founder of Verse: “The race to AI is now a race to power, and developers are losing time they don’t have. Most approaches to data center flexibility ask you to throttle your workloads, but Dispatch Intelligence takes a different approach. By orchestrating physical storage on-site, we deliver flexibility without impacting compute so systems run full-tilt while the grid sees a flexible load, letting operators skip the queue without ever slowing performance.”

Exceptional companies are often built by founders who have spent years living the problem they’re solving.
Seyed Madaeni has spent more than a decade building enterprise software for how businesses buy, manage, and control electricity. Before founding Verse, he was Chief Digital Officer at Fluence, where he helped lead the company’s $5B+ IPO and built its digital business from the ground up, scaling its renewable software portfolio to more than 10GW. Before that, he was CEO of AMS, where he pioneered a market-bidding platform that turned energy storage into a dispatchable financial asset.
His co-founder, Matt Penfold, brings the commercial counterpart to that technical depth. Before Verse, he led the commercialisation of AI wholesale market bidding software for utility-scale clean energy assets, taking it from whiteboard sketch to 10GW of assets under management.
Few teams are better positioned to tackle the growing complexity of the modern energy system.

We’re excited to join Bessemer Venture Partners, Google Venture, NVIDIA, and others in Verse’s oversubscribed $54 million Series B. The funding will support continued product development and deployment as the company scales to meet growing demand, onboard more than 100 additional sites over the next 12 months, and expand the battery capacity managed through its platform.
We couldn’t be more excited to support Seyed, Matt, and the entire Verse team as they build the infrastructure powering the next generation of the energy economy.
