Healthcare has an enormous capacity problem. Yet too much of the time and resources it already has are swallowed by administration. Patients struggle to get through, teams are overwhelmed and appointments go unfilled. That’s why we’ve invested in Vocca.
Getting an appointment should not be the hardest part of getting care.
In the US, admin has been estimated to account for a quarter of healthcare spending. Meanwhile, one study across 22 US medical practices found that 42% of incoming calls went unanswered during business hours. A system spending so much on admin should make it easier to reach someone.
But solving this takes more than a chatbot that can pick up the phone. Medical practices have specialised scheduling rules, different requirements for different examinations, and existing software that any new tool needs to work with. Answering a patient is one thing. Actually handling their request is another.
Vocca is building the AI operating layer for healthcare administration – starting with the front desk. Its AI assistant answers patients around the clock, books and reschedules appointments, sends reminders and handles routine requests.
Behind the conversation is a scheduling engine built for how healthcare actually works. It understands hundreds of different medical examinations, follows specialty-specific rules and integrates with the software practices already use. That depth allows practices to get up and running in days rather than months.
Vocca already resolves 70% of conversations end to end without human involvement on average, rising to more than 85% among its most mature customers.

In a year, Vocca has grown from 2,000 to 15,000 medical practitioners, across 1,500 practices in the United States and Europe. Revenue grew sevenfold over the same period, while conversation volume increased tenfold to more than one million inbound conversations a month. National dental, ophthalmology and imaging groups already run their scheduling on the platform, alongside hospital systems.
For patients, the value is better access. For healthcare teams, it is less repetitive administration. For providers, it is better use of staff and appointment capacity.

We’re proud to lead Vocca’s $20 million Series A, with participation from Heal Capital, Speedinvest, Firstminute Capital and angels including the founders of Alan and Datadog.
The funding will support deeper scheduling capabilities, more medical specialties, additional communication channels and further expansion in the United States.
Patients have been left on hold for too long. We couldn’t be more excited to back Eliott, Hugo and the entire Vocca team as they give healthcare more time for what matters.
